Power Dressing: Our Favourite Ethical Blazers

The power suit is back – but this time around it’s not just about sky-high shoulder pads and tiny waists. Dressing for success in 2019 means bold colours, androgenous shapes, and deconstructed garments that are as appropriate on the street as in the boardroom. Think Rihanna’s recent luxury fashion line launch Fenty, and oversized blazer styles that double as dresses.

Luckily, for those of us that love our fashion to be ethical and sustainable, there are a heap of brands delivering the goods too. Here are five of our favourites:

Sophie Red Organic Cotton Blazer – Ships internationally

The original and best, Katharine Hamnett has been leading the charge for ethical fashion since the 1980s  – the first time power dressing was a thing. We love her activist t-shirts as well as her activism (check out her recent interview on the Wardrobe Crisis podcast). This beautiful blazer is made with bright and bold red organic cotton.

Amsterdam-based Noumenon makes beautiful clothes with the most sustainable fabrics. The brand’s collection is vegan, uses GOTS certified organic textiles, and manufactures in Europe to reduce CO2. This oversized double-breasted white number is perfect for day and night. It’s made in Lithuania from 100% organic cotton.
