Bhumi Delivers Australia’s First Fairtrade Yoga and Activewear Range

Bhumi GoY-Ratings_4pt9 is proving that it’s possible to make high-performance activewear in a sustainable and ethical way with their new Soul Space range.

Bhumi 3Melbourne-based brand Bhumi prides itself on its commitment to making a product sustainably and ethically from harvest to shelf. Bhumi’s range of basics for women, men and children are 100% certified Fairtrade and organic. At Good On You, we believe they’re a front-runner when it comes to ethical fashion!

According to Dushyant, Co-founder of Bhumi, “We are all SOULS, beings of energy and light, holding SPACE on this beautiful planet. What we choose to do with the time we have is reflected in our actions be it yoga, meditation, walking, dancing, running. As we perform these activities, wouldn’t it be nice to know that what we are wearing reflects our goals of a better self, a better state of health, a better balance of body mind and soul?”

This commitment to a state of balance and beauty is why Bhumi have decided to create a new range of yoga and activewear that adheres to their core principles of sustainability, no toxins, no child labour and an ethical supply chain. The entire collection is made using organic cotton and recycled polyester (from PET bottles, old garments and waste fabrics) which would have otherwise ended up in landfill.

“There is a growing awareness for ethical consumerism and a growing movement of people doing yoga, meditation and other physical activities”, says Dushyant. “We noticed there is a gap in the market for ethically produced and sustainable yoga and activewear, therefore, we started working on this and are now excited to launch a range that is the first of its kind in Australia!”
