Supporting local makers
One hot New York summer, three friends, Ben, Mackenzie, and Rami, dreamed up the idea for Kotn. Rami especially was taken with the thought and journeyed back to his familial home of Egypt, where he lived in a cotton-farming community in the Nile Delta for six months. There, the first real seed of Kotn was planted.
Fast forward to today and Kotn says that community remains at the core of everything it does: “From the start, we decided that in order to build a lasting business we’d have to invest in building lasting communities for those throughout our supply chain.”
The brand now works directly with over 2,000 smallholder farmers in Egypt’s Nile Delta and Faiyum regions and has funded 15 schools and built 10 to support quality and accessible education for the farmers’ children. Made from traceable, quality materials
