Versatile menswear is top of the Good On You team’s picks this November
Every month, we ask Good On You staffers from around the world what items they’re investing in or loving from highly rated brands. This November, Kyle Raymond Fitzpatrick, social media manager, and JD Shadel, editor-at-large, are looking for quality men’s clothes and accessories to see them through seasonal travel and different climates. They found it in the likes of Neem, FM 669, Carpasus, and Iro Iro. Meanwhile, managing editor Amy Miles opts for items that help restyle the clothes and accessories she already owns, and discovers Lovetrust’s selection of cool secondhand items.

Kyle Raymond Fitzpatrick, social media manager
“I live in a different country from my family and, for the first time in three years, I’ll be making my way to see them for the holidays. Which is exciting! But also… a completely different climate. Between now and then, I’m doing some digital window shopping, considering getting a few items for the journey, from a black-with-white FM 669 organic cotton ringer tee to olive pleated organic cotton Neem London trousers. Versatile things! Travel and weather friendly things! And, to make sure my presence is a present, I’ll likely be grabbing this woodsy Sans Savon body bar. ‘Tis the season!”

“As the autumnal weather turns colder in London, I’ve got my eyes on Neem’s quintessentially made-in-Britain overshirts, which are fabulous trans-seasonal pieces. In autumn, they’re a light jacket. In winter, they’re a sturdy shirt. The soft flannel is 100% regenerative organic cotton, certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) traceable back to farm in Turkey. And this beautifully constructed nehru jacket from Iro Iro is a star for layering this time of year.
My socks are in a sad state. While I get around to darning them, I love the look of these recycled cotton socks from Neem, and these hemp ones from THTC. While we’re on the subject of undergarments, so many are synthetic blends, but Pico’s trunks are made from organic cotton, which is sourced from farmers’ cooperatives.
Lastly, I love the attention to detail that FM 669 brings to elevated basics such as this waffle-knit long-sleeve t-shirt. Made in New York City’s Garment District from organic-certified cotton from a collective of Texan farmers, the brand claims this item is ‘combed and ring spun to achieve the most luxurious thermal knit manufactured in the USA,’ and I’d have to agree.”

“I enjoy the challenge of restyling items I already own, or seeking out secondhand instead of buying lots of new stuff, and sometimes accessories can go a long way in aiding that. This bag chain from LaBante is a good example as it’ll make my own bags work for more dressy occasions. Adding a scarf to an outfit is always a good idea, and I love this bandana from Carpasus—it’ll go nicely with this old Smashing Pumpkins tee from Lovetrust’s preloved selection. I’ve also got a bunch of sewing jobs, like fixing a dress and a hole in my jeans, to catch up on, and this patching set from ace&jig will be great for the latter. If I am buying new items, they’ll be things I know I’ll keep and wear for a long time, and tentree’s flannel shirt, Herth’s silk bralette, and Alchemist’s ecru jeans all fit the bill.”
